SITRANS P MPS for level measurement
The SITRANS P MPS series pressure transmitter converts the level-proportional hydrostatic pressure into a standardized signal 4 to 20 mA. The transmitter consists of a stainless steel housing (Φ 27 mm) with mechanical protection IP 68, a piezzo-resistive sensor with stainless steel diaphragm and Φ 8.3 mm 2-wire sheathed cable with a built-in 2 air vents and a Kevlar cord vital for longer cable support.

SITRANS TW is a consistent further development of the hundred thousand times proven SITRANS T for the 4wire system in the mounting rail housing. Its many new functions set new standards in temperature transmitters. Its diagnostic and simulation functions provide the necessary clarity during commissioning and operation. Its HART®-interface makes the SITRANS TW easily adaptable to any measuring job with SIMATIC PDM.

Physical values can be preset with the simulation function. This enables testing of the complete signal path right as far as the control system without the need for tools. The drag pointer functions measure the system’s process variable minimum and maximum.

All SITRANS TW control room devices are available in non-intrinsically safe versions and intrinsically safe versions for applications under extreme conditions.

SITRANS TF

SITRANS TF comes in rugged diecast aluminum or long-lasting high-grade steel. It transforms signals from resistance thermometers, resistance transmitters, thermocouples and voltage transmitters into a load independent DC signal corresponding to the sensor characteristic. The remotely mounted sensor prevents the transmitter heating up at high temperature, long collar and protective pipes prevent vibrations and oscillations in SITRANS TF.

For tags with difficult to access you can mount your SITRANS TF remotely at easily accessible places and display the measured value on the freely programmable digital display.

You can even use the SITRANS TF in a version without a transmitter as a comfortable display unit for all 4 to 20 mA signals.

SITRANS T3K PA transforms signals from resistance thermometers, reistance transmitters, thermocouples and voltage transmitters into digital signals. The measured value from the microprocessor is them made available with status as a quality specification and other parameters on PROFIBUS PA via electrical isolation. The sensor, limit values, failure behavior etc. are programmable. SITRANS T3K PA therefore offers you various diagnosis and simulation possibilities.

High safety
The current consumption is less than 11mA. For safety, the bus current is reduced to less than 14 mA in the event of an error, an EMC filter prevents malfunctions in the case of electromagnetic interference. Intrinsically safe versions of this device are also available. EEx ia and EEx ib.

Electromagnetic Flow Measurement

Electromagnetic flowmeters are designed for measuring the flow of electrically conductive mediums.

Applications

SITRANS F M electromagnetic flowmeters are suitable for measuring the flow of almost all electrically conducting liquids, pastes and slurries. A prerequisite is that the medium must have a minimum conductivity of 5 µS/cm. The temperature, pressure, density and viscosity have no influence on the result. Greater flexibility
The advantages of the electromagnetic flowmeters include a wide product program, the possibility of compact or remote installation using the same transmitter and sensor and the use of a USM II communication platform for easy integration with all systems.

Easier to commission
All MAGFLO electromagnetic flowmeters feature a unique SENSORPROM memory unit which stores sensor calibration data and transmitter settings for the lifetime of the product. At commissioning the flowmeter commences measurement without any initial programming

The factory settings matching the sensor size are stored in the SENSORPROM unit. Also customer specified settings are downloaded to the unit. Should the transmitter be replaced, the new transmitter will upload all previous settings and resume measurement without any need for reprogramming.

Further, the "fingerprint" used in connection with the MAGFLO Verificator is stored during the initial sensor calibration.

Easier to service
Transmitter replacement requires no programming. SENSORPROM automatically updates all settings after initialization.

Motion Sensors  

The Siemens Milltronics probes work on the principle of Faraday’s Laws of Electromagnetic Induction. When a ferromagnetic object enters the probe’s permanent magnetic field, it distorts the flux, causing its coil windings to generate a voltage. This voltage is proportional to the strength of the magnet and the number of wire turns in the coil (constant in the probes) and the speed at which the ferrous target passes through the flux. The generated voltage is also inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the target and the probe.

MFA 4p motion failure alarm controller is a highly sensitive single setpoint motion sensor system, used with Milltronics MSP and XPP probes.

The MFA 4p detects changes in the motion and speed of rotating, reciprocating or conveying equipment. It warns of equipment malfunction and signals through contacts to shut down machinery in case of a slowdown or failure. Its reliability makes it a cost-effective way to protect valuable process equipment.

The single setpoint system suits most industrial applications. This versatile unit can be used on tail pulley shafts, driven pulleys, motor shaft sensing, belt or drag conveyors, screw conveyor flights, bucket elevators, fans and pumps.

A special feature is the adjustable 0-60 second time delay, allowing the monitored device to accelerate to normal running speed before monitoring begins. A wide range of probes are available to suit specific needs, including high temperatures, corrosive, and Class I, II and III installations. The CE approval allows the MFA 4p to consitently meet the needs of the mining, aggregate and cement, and other primary and secondary industries.

Typical applications include tail pulley shafts, driven pulleys, motor shaft sensing, and screw conveyor flights. Non-contacting, the Millpulse supplies cost effective equipment protection even in the harshest conditions.

This rugged unit is impervious to dust, dirt, build-up and moisture, and is ideal for such primary industries as mining, aggregate and cement plants. HART
Field Communications Protocol

 
HART is a widely used communication standard for field devices. The HART-Standard expands the analog 4- bis 20-mA signal into a modulated, industry-standard digital HART signal.

The advantage is the combination of field-tested analog measured-value transmission and simultaneous digital communication with bi-directional, acyclic transmission, making it possible to transfer diagnostic, maintenance and process information from field devices to higher-level systems. Standardized sets of parameters can be used for cross-vendor operation of all HART devices.
